Our History
IPHA was founded in 2015 by Dr. Mehmood Khan and Dr. Syed Naqvi, two respected hospitalists in San Antonio who shared a vision for improving inpatient care through stronger communication, continuity, and collaboration. What began in just two hospitals quickly evolved into a trusted physician-led organization rooted in compassion, professionalism, and partnership.
From the very beginning, IPHA set out to offer a better experience—for patients, primary care providers, and hospital systems alike. Over the years, our team built a reputation for being reliable, relationship-driven, and focused on long-term outcomes. By prioritizing the needs of patients and partnering physicians, and by staying grounded in our family-oriented culture, IPHA steadily grew to serve every non-governmental acute care hospital in San Antonio and more than 20 post-acute care facilities across the region.
Our Present
Today, IPHA delivers comprehensive hospitalist services that extend across the full continuum of care. Our physician-led team works in acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, long-term care environments, and more—ensuring patients receive consistent, coordinated care at every step. We offer managed care solutions, hospital medicine, post-acute care, and a streamlined direct admission process that improves patient flow and enhances the provider experience.
